Bandung Getaway : Saung Angklung Mang Udjo

mini angklung for lucky charm?? :p

as today I got a day off from office (oh yeah.finally), i decided to join short trip to Bandung with my mom's friends. they had a ceremony for those who got retired or been moved to other divisions. my lil brother also joined the trip. it was fun!

this afternoon, i got a chance to visit Mang Udjo Saung Angklung. it is the biggest angklung factory in the world! yeah, finally UNESCO declared that Angklung is Indonesian Authentic Traditional Music Instrument (tetangga jangan ngaku2 lagi yee :p) on 18 Oct 2010. so Glad to be Indonesian ! :)

In Saung Angklung, we could see some performances of West Java Traditional Art ; Wayang Golek Show, traditional dance like topeng (mask) or Haleran Festival, Arumba Music Show, Angklung Orchestra show. We also get a chance to learn how to play angklung and try to play some songs with it. You must try it by yourself! it is fun and very entertaining..

Unfortunately, i got angklung in High 'Do' (C) tune, and it is seldom to be played with because all the song get low tune. So i just played it several times. Hiks.
hey i recorded one of angklung orchestra show. Let's see if i could upload it here. Wish me Luck!

chel :)
